Project Overview
To help Plastikon Healthcare meet pharmaceutical-grade plastic certification standards, P&E Company installed all-new process piping, airlines, water lines and utility piping at their plant in Lawrence, Kansas. Project managers Josh Petrick and Kirk Epperson led the creation of this $1M new system.
A new, BPE-certified system
P&E Company’s experienced craftspeople replaced the nozzles in six tanks to bring them up to U.S. standards for BPE certification (the tanks were originally fabricated out-of-country and weren’t up-to-code). The team fabricated and installed the water line between the water softeners and distillation system. They also fabricated and installed BPE tubing (including product, water-for-injection and clean-in-place systems) and set and modified existing equipment and steel. P&E ran utility systems (cooling water, plant water, steam and air) and demoed piping to allow for installation of new systems and processes.
P&E Company is proud of this five-month project, which made it possible for the customer to produce surgical-grade irrigation saline.
